Mariah Carey "Faded"

 It was overcast that day
And I was feeling some kind of way
I pulled the covers up over my head
Tried reaching for you but that was then
I can't forget
My heart's hung over but ain't nothing different
I closed my eyes nothing but faded pictures of you, of you
Faded, baby, you're faded
Baby you're faded, faded
You come, you go, you're just an echo
Whisper in my ear, but in the morning you're not here
So intangible, just like an echo
Still try to pretend it's possible
To bring us back to life
Boy we continue to subside
Hanging on for life like on this roller-coaster ride
I call your name baby subconsciously
Always somewhere, but you're not there for me
Boy you, boy you, faded, baby, you're faded
Baby you're faded, faded
Boy you just come and you go
You come and you go, you go, you're just an echo (just an echo)
Whisper in my ear, but in the morning you're not here
So intangible, just like an echo
Faded, faded
You're always somewhere, but you're not there for me
Not there for me, not there for me
You're always somewhere, but you're not there for me
Not there for me, not there for me, me , me

... bright colors, beads, head wraps and beautiful patterns... what's not to love about singer India.Arie's expressive style? More importantly, Arie's music actually has meaning. Her lyrics are all about exposing the lies and loving yourself without seeking permission or validation from others. Her ballads are honest and non- confectionary. Her sound is guitar and vocals- driven. Her voice is bold yet vulnerable. Her love for life, people and creation are always her inspiration.

"Where have you been all my life..."

... just a little update...
I lost my dearly loved laptop a few weeks back. I had it for about six years, so I guess it was time. I now have a new one (thanks, Mom!!), so I'll get back to posting in the next few days. I've really missed it!
I'm also still recovering from the injuries I mentioned a while back. It's so frustrating not being able to workout or even use the stairs without feeling pain! Appreciate your knees, my friends.
On a side note: I've been listening to Mariah Carey's new album. I don't understand where all the hate is coming from. It's one of her best. If you haven't listened to it yet, check it out. Just don't listen to it on YouTube. The quality of all the uploads is terrible! I'll be posting lyrics from some of the tracks as they are wonderful, inspiring and so relatable.
I hope all of you have been listening to lots of good music, too...
