Even on a Forever 21 budget you can give the appearance of a J. Crew wardrobe. My tips for making inexpensive pieces look like you've spent more than you have for them:

-Pair them with a bag, shoes and jewelry you've spent more for
-Stick to classic shapes and colors such as black, cream and navy.
-Avoid large/bold patterns as the materials themselves are usually poor quality
-Check all items for loose and/or hanging threads and remove them
-Don't use the belts that come with pants, skirts, etc. They are typically flimsy and made of cheap material. J. Crew's belts are affordable, well- made alternatives.
-Take extra care with your makeup application and hair styling
-Hand wash inexpensive pieces instead of throwing them in the washing machine and dry on a drying rack instead of in the dryer

You don't have to go into debt to look your best!
